Elizabeth and Derek didn't have too much in common. He was manly whereas she was girly. He was a boy scout. She was once a girl scout. He liked to poop standing up. She didn't really enjoy pooping. However they did have one thing in common, they loved steps.

  Elizabeth had always said she never met a flight of steps she didn't like. Derek kept a journal of every flight he had have come across and tackled. Elizabeth would take weekends and head into the big city and go up and down the stairs of the large skyscrapers. Derek shared his love of steps by constantly pulling fire alarms at tall building and making people use the stairs. They were both pretty sick.

  Hiking in the Red River Gorge was like a dream come true for the two step-addicts. There were no trails that didn't involve at least a few million. So when the search for Pill Bug was expanded to cover the many trails, Elizabeth and Derek were first to volunteer.
