Going into these Pill Bug Olympics many people thought some of
the hardest events to predict would be the "Games" events and so far
that has been exactly the case. After a stunning come from behind
win by Kristine in the Super Smash Bros competition all bets were
off going into the Mario Kart competition. Many people were shocked the
favorite, Eric from Otros, hadn't even survived the first round of that
event and expected him to make his move here.
Similar to the Super Smash Bros event, the Mario Kart competition
would consist of two rounds. The first and second place winners of the
two first round games would face off in the final round. The
first game would be held between Be of Butenia, Chinsey of Campbella,
Pill Bug of Buggland, and Eric of Otros. The second game would involve
Kristine and Stephen of Marylando, Mikey of Butenia, and Aubrey of
Otros.
The first match was something to behold. Be in the Princess car
took an early lead. However in no time, Eric in the Mario car had
caught up to her. Pill Bug and Chinsey both struggled to get out of the
gate. The race ended with Eric barely edging out Be but both would move on.
The second race had very little excitement. Kristine took a commanding lead
from the start and easily won the race. Stephen and Mikey did battle it out
for second with Stephen taking the edge. This set up the final match between
Eric, Be, Stephen, and Kristine.
The race was close pretty much the whole time. As the approached the finish
line Stephen had a brief lead until he was smacked with a turtle shell. This gave
Be and Kristine their change to make a move and they did securing the gold
and silver medal respectively. Stephen finished third.
If I may say on a personal note, I have done a lot of exciting things in
my life. Of course most of them involve hot men at bars, but that is beside the
point. What I saw here today was one of the most trilling events I have ever seen.
It is hard to explain to someone who wasn't here. These Pill Bug Olympics are
intense.
