Camping
The Great Outdoors

Some of the events at the Pill Bug Olympics really don't
require the athlete competing to be in very good shape. I mean how
many push-ups do you need to be able to do to win the beer drinking
competition? The camping event is different. This event is so diverse that
if the athletes competing aren't in good shape they will be left in the
dust. The event consists of five different competitions. The highest score
of the five events combined gets the winner. The five events are as follows:
tent pitching, tent packing, lantern lighting, marshmallow roasting,
and bear wrestling.
Competing in this years event were Megan and Troy of Butenia,
Marc and Dixon of Marylando, Josh and Chinsey of Campbella, Aubrey
of Otros, and Pill Bug of Buggland. Each athlete usually has a few of the
events that they are better at than others. For instance Megan was a great
marshmallow roaster but really struggled with the tent activities. Dixon
was the world's record holder in lantern lighting but his marshmallows
always fell off his stick. The person who ended up having the best overall
score was Josh. He excelled in the tent activities as well as the lantern lighting.
Second place was Chinsey who struggled with the bear wrestling but did well
enough in the other four categories to make up for it and grab the silver.
Finally, finishing third was a surprising Pill Bug who wrestled his bear in a
Pill Bug Olympic record time.
