Running Fast
Lightning Fast

In this reporters opinion, the Running Fast event at the Pill Bug
Olympics is by the far the event that most resembles a real athletic competition.
Don't get me wrong, sleeping and spinning around take talent and skill but
a race, which is what Running Fast is, just has something old school about it.
The race is 100 yards, about the length of a football field. The first one across
the finish line wins, there isn't much explanation needed.
This is always one of the closest events in the PBOs. This year was no
different with second through fifth place all within a few seconds of each other.
Of course no one was close to catching Bert of Marylando who blew away the field.
Competing were Shell and Kelly of Butenia, Bert and Marc of Marylando, Demoss and
Megan of Campbella, and Scott of Otros.
There isn't much you can say about a race. The starting gun was fired and
everyone shot off. From the start it was apparent Bert would win. He was the heavy
favorite coming in. The rest of the pack was much closer. Kelly, Shell, Marc, and
Scott were all very close. In the end Kelly and Shell ended up taking the medals
with Scott and Marc finishing fourth and fifth respectively. Demoss was sixth with
Megan finishing seventh and last.
