All Day 16
I Call 'em As I See 'em
by Chris from Holmes
The opening of one's eyes, something so trivial and such
common place. The very things that can get you eliminated in a second
from a Pill Bug Olympics sleeping match. Well unless you sleep with your
eyes open. In one of the most controversial events in the history of the
Pill Bug Olympics, Robbie of team Butenia was disqualified for failing to
close his eyes during the competition even though he was sound asleep.
The All Day 16 is similar in nature to the other sleeping events. In
this event the contestants must sleep for 16 hours in a lighted room. There
are distractions such as birds chirping, children playing, and traffic horns
to wake them up before the 16 hours is up. There is no written rule that a contestant
must sleep with his eyes closed but Robbie got disqualified for not doing so.
Competing is this event were Robbie of Butenia, Ryan and Sopha of Marylando,
Chinsey and Gwedo of Campbella, and Pill Bug of Buggland. The competition started
and all six contestants fell asleep. However as mentioned before, Robbie's eyes
were open so he was immediately disqualified. The next to fall was Sopha
who woke up after about an hour. A rather pathetic showing. Ryan who was
expecting to medal in all three sleeping events slipped to fourth for the second
straight time waking up out of medal contention. Pill Bug awoke next falling for
the same porn trick that got him in earlier sleeping event. That left only
Chinsey and Gwedo, guaranteeing gold and silver for team Campbella. Chinsey slept
until the 13th hour and Gwedo made it a Pill Bug Olympic record of 15 hours to
secure the gold. After the competition I spoke to Robbie about his disqualification.
"This is such bull!" said Robbie, "I got disqualified and I didn't break
any of the rules. Pill Bug and his people will certainly be hearing from my
lawyers."
