ABOUT US
Butts for Buddha was founded in 1994. It was the first an only religious student organization on WU's campus at the time. In the years following, the Butts for Buddha organization has slowly grown into one of the more recognized organizations at WU. Since we at Butts for Buddha only follow the teachings of Buddha and not the Buddist religion we have no church affiliations. Today, Butts for Buddha is growing stronger still.
OUR PHILOSPHY
At the time of creation, the founders of Butts for Buddha knew nothing about Buddha. We are proud to point out that over its years that hasn't changed at all. We don't really know what Buddha's teachings were due to the fact we never looked them up so we have decided to just guess at them. However most of our guesses are educational guesses based on the fact Buddha is usually portrayed fat and sitting upside-down Indian-style. Based on that we believe Buddha's teachings are the following:
MEETINGS
Butts for Buddha meet every Wednesday night at the Wadener Student Union from 7 til 10. Guests are welcome to attend all meetings except the first meeting of each month where we do our ritual log rolling ceremony. Membership, however, is open to anyone as long as they are approved by the Buddha Board. Refreshment are, of course, served at every meeting.
OFFICERS
Butts for Buddha has five officers that make up the Buddha Board. Officers are selected at the last meeting of each Spring Semester. The five offices are Buddha Master, Buddha Khan, Buddha Bubba, Buddha Buttock, and Buddha Baby. All offices are outlined in the Butts for Budda doctrine. To receive a copy of the doctrine please attend the next Wednesday meeting.
